Smart wash down connector made of stainless steel

It is important to regularly wash your boat down with fresh water, to remove salt and other harmful residues from your boat. Salt can cause irreversible damage not only to metal components, but can also permanently stain window glass and harm boat coatings such as gel-coat. So to extend the life of your boat it is advisable to regularly hose off the salt and clean the exposed areas. Traditionally a mop and bucket does the job well enough, but a wash down connector makes the job much easier and more satisfying.

This flush mounted connector is made from high quality marine grade stainless steel. It is designed to connect to the wash down pump under the deck and keeps the water under pressure. The kit comes with a special bayonet shaped connector that fits onto standard 1/2″ “garden style” water hose via a universal push-fit connection. Once the bayonet fitting on the end of your wash down hose is inserted into the device, it automatically opens and activates the pump. And “Voila!” off you go. Likewise, when the wash down hose is removed, the pump is turned off. The fitting sits nice and flush in your deck and has a flip down, protective rubber insert to cover the hose connection. To avoid any confusion on deck, the fitting is also clearly engraved “WASHDOWN” on the stainless steel flange.
