Europump II Automatic Bilge Pump 600 - 2000 GPH
- Automatic bilge pump
- Heavy duty, compact design
- Available in a range of capacities
Great value automatic water pump, ideal for pumping bilge water.
The bilge is lowest part of the hull below the waterline where the two sides meet at the keel. Water that does not drain off the side of the deck drains down through the ship into the bilge. This bilge water may be from rough seas, rain, leaks in the hull or stuffing box, or other interior spillage. The collected water must be pumped out to prevent the bilge from becoming too full and threatening the buoyancy of the ship.
Bilge water can be found aboard almost every vessel, and on most modern boats an electric bilge pump is preferable to a bucket for removing it. Since fuel can be present in the bilge, electric bilge pumps are designed not to cause sparks.
This range of submersible electric (12V) pumps is heavy duty and compact. These pumps have a built in sensor. So when the water reaches a certain level the pump is activated and it cuts out once the water level has dropped below a set height. For the smaller models (600 & 750 GPH) this is an electronic sensor and for the larger models (1500 & 2000) GPH) this sensor is a float switch.
For quality assurance they are CE and RINA certified in accordance with marine ISO 8846.
The Europump II model is available in a range of sizes and flow rates to suit varying sizes of boat and volumes of bilge water. The pump has a connection for a hose to carry the bilge water to a suitable outlet and pump it out of the boat. The capacity of the pumps is measured in either gallons per hour (GPH) or litres per minute (L/Min). For heavy duty applications choose a pump with a greater pumping capacity.
