Handed Fairleads (Pair)

Smart handed stainless steel fairleads, supplied as a pair.

A fairlead is a device used to guide a rope or chain to prevent it catching or fraying. Fairleads allow your line to be pulled in a direction that is not always straight. For example, when raising or lowering sails the rope passing through the fairlead is pulled horizontally, while it hoists the sail vertically. Not only does it maximise your pulling power, but it can also help keep the deck orderly and arranged. Fairleads also prevent a straight run of line from vibrating or chafing on the deck surface.

Handed fairleads are traditionally fitted on either side of the bow or stern to allow the lines to be pulled at an angle. These fairleads come as a pair and are stamped “L” and “R” on the underside to aid appropriate positioning on the port and starboard sides. They are available in a choice of two sizes: 120mm (4 3/4″) and 150mm (6″), each suitable for different sized lines.

These handed fairleads are made from mirror polished AISI 316 marine grade stainless steel. The curved hooks are beautifully shaped and angled to the left and right respectively.

This lovely pair of handed fairleads are ideally suited for the bow or stern of most small to medium sized vessels.
