Kill Cord Cut Off Switch Kit

Can you risk not having a kill cord on your outboard?

Most new outboards are fitted with an ignition cut-off switch as standard but if you need to replace it or want to retro fit a kill switch onto your boat then this kit is all you need. The universal switch is designed to be wired into your ignition system and the unique key is fitted onto the switch every time the engine is started. The key is on a red coiled lanyard and on the other end is a metal clip, which you fix onto person (around your wrist or onto your clothing etc…) In the event that the driver is thrown overboard the key is pulled out of the switch and the engine is immediately stopped. Hopefully you will never have to use it, but following a couple of headline making accidents, it’s a risk most people are not prepared to take.

The red lanyard is coiled so it allows you a full range of movement as you operate the engine. It also has a float, so should it go overboard it can easily be retrieved.

The switch can be used to both open and close the system, depending on which way the terminals are connected.
