Octahedral Radar Reflector - Large or Small

Radar reflectors are an important part of any boat.

Most small boats, especially those made of GRP, return a very weak echo to radar. In order to maximise your visibility to other ships a radar reflector should be fitted.
In fact, according to SOLAS V 19.2.1.7 vessels of less than 150 gross tonnage should have a radar reflector present to enable detection by ships navigating by radar.

These octahedral radar reflectors provide a reflective surface area for the radar signal to rebound off.

To open them up you simply pull the corners apart and the reflector pops into shape. It can then be tied in position.

When not in use they can be folded flat, they are made of aluminium so are light-weight and easy to use.

The reflector is available in two sizes:

Small – 210 x 210 x 300mm

or

Large – 340 x 340 x 470mm.

Each is supplied with a protective PVC storage case.
