Raw Water Filter - Large

An intake water filter is an essential item for any water cooled marine engine.

The filter provides protection to the impeller pump by restricting the entry of debris into the raw water cooling circuit. This is particularly important for boats sailing in shallow waters where marine plants grit and other water born debris can be easily drawn into the cooling system.

This strainer has a black plastic housing with a transparent plastic screw cap. The clear lid gives you good view into the filter to check for problems without having to remove the lid. If you do need to remove the lid, then this is easily done by unscrewing the wing nut on the top. The strainer basket inside the filter is made from clear nylon. Cleaning the filter is easy as the basket can be lifted out of the unit. The intake and discharge connectors on the underneath and side of the filter are both the same size.

The unit is available in two different sizes:

Small with 3/4″ threaded connections

or

Large with 1 1/2″ threaded connections.

The water flow rate through the filter is 150 litres/min for the small unit and 300 litres/min for the larger one.

This is the large one and is an easy to fit filter that is an essential component in your engine bay.
