Trefoil® Anchor - Stainless Steel - 2.5kg

Beautiful hand-crafted cast stainless steel 2.5kg Trefoil style anchor.

This design of anchor is also known as a Claw anchor or “Bruce” style anchor. It is a popular option for small boaters as the claw sets quickly in most sea beds. Claw anchors have the reputation of not breaking out with tide or wind changes, instead slowly turning in the bottom to align with the force. The benefits of claw anchors are that they are very effective in boulder bottoms, perform relatively well with low rode scopes and set fairly reliably.

This particular Trefoil anchor is made from cast AISI 316 marine grade stainless steel. It has a high quality mirror polished finish. So as well as looking beautiful this anchor has excellent corrosion resistance properties.

As a very rough guide work on 1.5kg per metre and adjust the weight of the anchor taking into consideration varying factors such as wider or taller than average boats, the water and weather conditions you will be sailing in as well the type of sea bed.
