This high quality CE marked fuel tank vent is made from cast 316 marine grade stainless steel. The head of the vent has been mirror polished for a smart finish. This tank breather is available to suit three popular sizes of vent hose: 16mm, 19mm or 25mm. Simply push this vent into the end of your fuel tank’s vent hose and mount the vent in a suitable location, above the tank to allow the fuel tank to breathe. The vent is fitted with a flame proof screen and is made in accordance with RINA standards.

This fuel tank vent has a straight hose connection but it is also available with a 90 degree elbow.

Why do I need a fuel tank vent?

Your tank has to breathe. In order to breathe, your tank must have a vent somewhere that will relieve both vacuum and pressure. Fuel expands in volume as it warms up and shrinks in volume as it cools down. The fuel level of your tank changes throughout the day, even if you are not using it.

You cannot put fuel into your tank, unless you can get the air out…and you cannot withdraw fuel from your tank unless you can let air in.
