Excellent value stainless steel tank, manufactured in the UK and available in two different grades of stainless steel.
This 60 litre tank is made from 1.5mm thick stainless steel.
It can be used for fresh, drinking water or waste water (grey water or black water).
The tank is 660 x 350 x 290mm (L x W x H). It comes with a 200mm o.d. bolt down inspection hatch. This hatch gives you easy access inside the tank for maintenance and comes with a nitrile sealing gasket and stainless fixings.
Which grade of stainless steel is best for my boat?
304 grade stainless steel is best for using on boats that cruise on inland waterways i.e. rivers, lakes and canals.
316 grade stainless steel (marine grade) is recommended for sea-going vessels in a salt water environment. This grade has a higher level of corrosion resistance than 304 grade stainless.
What can I use this tank for?
Drinking Water – Also referred to as fresh water or potable water
Waste Water – Grey or black water. Grey water is the used water from your sink, basin or shower drains. Black water is the used water from your toilet, also referred to as a holding tank or a toilet tank.
What pipe connections are on the tank?
The tank comes with the following pipe connections:
Filler: 1 x 1 1/2″ BSP female threaded socket
Sender: 1 x 1 1/4″ BSP female threaded socket
Depending on whether you select Fresh Water or Waste Water the pipe connections on the inspection hatch will be set as follows:
Fresh Water:
Feed: 1 x 3/4″ BSP female threaded socket, with pick-up pipe inside the tank
Vent: 1 x 1/2″ BSP female threaded socket
Waste Water (Grey or Black Water)
Pump Out: 1 x 1 1/2″ BSP female threaded socket, with pick-up pipe inside the tank
Vent: 1 x 1″ BSP female threaded socket
Each tank is fully TIG welded by qualified welders and individually pressure tested so you can be assured of its integrity. The waste water tanks are CE marked to ISO 8099 Small Craft Toilet Waste Retention Systems. NB There is no ISO standard associated with fresh water tanks so this is not applicable, although our tanks are still made to the same high standards!
Stainless steel is a perfect option for your fresh water tank as it doesn’t taint the taste of your drinking water like a plastic tank.
Stainless steel is the perfect option for your waste water tank as it is stronger and more robust than a plastic tank and has excellent corrosion resistance properties.
This tank is also available in the following sizes: 40 Litres, 100 Litres, 120 Litres, 150 Litres, 190 Litres & 240 Litres
Tip: Screw in stainless fittings such as hosetails and compression fittings can be used with these tanks to connect your water pipes.
