Mercury OMC Stern Drive Flush Muffs

It is advisable to flush your outboard engine with fresh water after each use to keep it clear.

This is particularly important when you are running the engine in sea water. The salt crystals build up and clog the channels.

“Flush muffs”, “flushers” or “ear muffs” are the easy way to connect a standard garden hose and rinse the engine through with fresh water. This removes any debris and salt water to prevent the salt crystals from forming when the engine dries out.

These stern drive flush muffs are suitable for all Mercury and OMC (Outboard Marine Corporation) stern drive engines.

They also fit all 2 or 4 stroke outboard engines up to 300 HP that have the water inlet on the engine leg.

Once the suction cups are in position over the water intake, simply connect a standard garden hose to the muffs and when the engine runs fresh water will be drawn through the engine to flush out any contaminants.
